Pray for Pensacola
As some of you know, I grew up in Pensacola, FL, which was recently hit hardest by Hurricane Ivan. According to the local newspaper, many of the bridges are out and many homes, businesses, and hospitals have been destroyed or badly damaged. 90% of town has no electricity, all drinking water needs to be boiled, phones are working about half the time, and a 5:00 curfew has been enacted.
My father was able to evacuate, but he hasn't been able to get back to the house to see what kind of damage it sustained.
I talked to a cousin in nearby Navarre, who said that the entire extended Brooks family was doing fine, with little damage done to the homes. He requested that we "pray for patience"; as many people are getting frustrated as they begin to realize the extent of the damage.

Dad finally made it to the house:
A big tree in the front yard leaned up onto the house, and punctured about four holes in the roof. Miraculously, there was no water damage or leaking into the inside of the house, which is great!
