We're having a baby!!
We are now ready to announce to the world that Scruffy is about to be a big brother in a few months!! We are 13 weeks pregnant and I have a 2 inch baby inside of me!
We found a wonderful, experienced doctor here in Manila, and are excited to say that sometime around January 10th, our precious Baby Brooks will be born!
Here is one of the photos we recieved this past week at our doctor visit. It is so amazing to us how perfectly formed this new life is, so early on! We even got to see him/her scratching their head and flipping over! Definately an active baby already!!
This is a view of the his/her head and arms outstretched!! The doctor wrote in, "Hi Mom!, Hi Dad!" We'd like to add "Hi ya'll!"
Feel free to leave a comment/name suggestion below!

Hi Dan & Ellen,
Congratulations! I check out your blog from time to time, and was I surprised to see your news! :)It must be amazing to have life growing in you, Ellen. The baby's blessed to have wonderful godly parents. Keeping you in prayer as you guys embark on the new journey of parenthood, and my offer to send you dried sour plums to help with any morning sickness still stands :) mmm...*yummy*
WOW!!! We got the text and now we have been waiting to check your blog entry. What photos! What excitement! What a whirlwind year you two have had. So Ellen, will you be teaching this coming semester? We will have to visit and be some adopted aunties and uncles from the Southern Philippines! Praise the Lord! (P.S. I was just reading the stories of Elizabeth and Zechariah and Abraham and Sarah--isn't it cool how God named Isaac and John? I wonder if an angel will tell you a name for your baby!) Jessica
I will be an Uncle, although I guess I already was with Scruffy.
Names
Boy: Marcus Aurelius Brooks or
Maximus Lorenthal Brooks
Lorenthal? That sounds like something you would take for a sore throat...
Speaking of which, I-Shen, I'll make sure that Ellen gets ALL of your dried sour plums! I think they'll actually give ME morning sickness!

OK, OK. Edgar is now the middle name. The Discovery Team settled on an appropriate first name: "Merriwether".
Hi, Dan & Ellen!

Bill & Susan Kenworthy
(We're still in Dallas. Bill works in the Executive Director's and Project Funding Offices. Susan is in Management Training with Richard Harman as Distance Learning Consultant.)
Hey Bill and Susan!
Good to hear from you guys! Yes, Ellen will be teaching this semester, but has asked to not teach the 2nd semester, since the baby is due in January.
So...if anyone wants to teach 11 3rd graders for one semester, then come to the Philippines!
Dan
Congratulations. You have never been so tired as you're going to be, and you'll love every minute of it! I highly recommend the FP bouncy seat, if there is room in the apartment.
