Despedida
According to the Tagalog-English Dictionary, a "despedida" is listed as a "party given for people leaving".
SIL gave us an official despedida last week, and quite a few people stood up and spoke some nice things about us. Davis was passed around from person to person and generally stole the show (as usual). Here are some pictures from the tearful celebration.

Despedida sounds like something that would be a fairly serious medical condition, perhaps some sort of foot ailment. Hope you are ok and that it isn't contagious.
