Let the traveling begin!!

Well, since we have arrived, we have taken off on an adventure to visit lots of friends and family. It has been a whirlwind so far, but we are just enjoying all the time we have with folks! Here is a recap of our last week! :)HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Our first stop was to Naylor, Georgia. Here we ate lots of turkey and caught up with SO many fun family members. We spent the weekend very nostalgically at Dan's Grandma's house. As a child, this is where Dan and his family would come and visit. I have named it the perfect Grandma house.

Davis and his Great Grandma Davis. She is 91 and still doing very well. We love her so much!

Then, off for a stop to see our nephews, John and Caleb in Bartow, Florida. They have grown up so much since I first met them! (now 15 and 12.) We went out to lunch and then Davis and I watched the "big boys" kick around the soccer ball at a local park.

Next stop, Ft. Meyers, Florida to visit Grandma Grinnell! Davis had some precious time with her. When we arrived she had "baby proofed" her home by taking all of her breakable items off the shelves. Davis still found lots of safe items to play with.... we think his favorites were her coasters! He charmed all of her friends in her apartment complex with his joyful attitude and smile. :)

Along the way we made a yummy stop a Cracker Barrel!!!

After a stop to visit some friends in St Augustine Florida, we have now landed in Charlotte, NC for the next week, to stay with some wonderful friends of ours. (picture coming soon!!) While we are here we plan to visit tons of friends and catch up with them.

Tonight, we visited with Stephanie, Josh, and their sweet girls, Elena, Emily and Lily. Lily was born just 3 weeks after Davis.... It was so much fun to watch them interact. We've known Stephanie's family for 22 years and she is really more a sister to me then a friend.

Hello America!

Well, we've made it and are settling back into life in the USA. We have been really excited to have a wonderful debrief time and then reunite with my parents. There are so many people to visit and reconnect with. It should be a really exciting time. :)

For the week in Seattle we spent a lot of time with Steve and Becky, whose ministry is to counsel missionaries and missionary parents. We loved getting to "debrief" our wonderful experience in the Philippines with them. (and a bonus was that they really also loved Davis and Scruffy!)

It was COLD!!! To go from the climate of the Philippines to Seattle was quite a shock. Even though it was cold, we all went for many walks. (isn't Davis cute :))

Our home in Seattle was with a really nice family who openly let us come and live in their house. They had 2 awesome teenage girls also who we loved getting to know.

Sweet Home Alabama!!! This was a big reunion as Grandma and Gramps were anxiously awaiting at the airport ready to pick Davis up! (and the rest of us also!!!) Dad's joke was that they had been waiting for several hours.... I don't think it was quite that long, but they were early. :)

Davis is adjusting really well. He is now sleeping through the night again and just being such a happy kid. He did have a minor set back with an ear infection and really runny nose, but he is a trouper and is still ready to play!

Goodbye Manila

Although we are now in Seattle, I can't tell you about our trip until I finish up our time in the Philippines. We had a whirlwind few days before we actually departed and didn't have a chance to tell you about our last couple days! Here are a few pics!

Before church on Sunday the Chesnut family met us in our church parking lot to say a final goodbye. I think this was the first and last photo of our families together for a long time.

At church Nanay and Tatay spent a lot of time with Davis. They kept him during the service just about the entire time. Here they are singing with the congregation. :)

After church we went out to lunch with Nanay, Tatay, Alex, Emi and Joni, who have been some of our closest friends. It was really special as we enjoyed time together and also some of our favorite Filipino foods!

Baby Joni has grown up a lot since she was born! Davis and her love each other. We are sad to separate them! (aren't they cute!!)

Before we left we also spent a lot of time with our friends, Melissa, Andrew and Sarah. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures to share with you!!

All I can say is we already miss you all very much!!!
